Thomas M. Sipkins Assumes Executive Secretary Position

On November 1, 2017, Thomas M. Sipkins assumed the position of Executive Secretary of the Board on Judicial Standards.  

Mr. Sipkins was a judge of the Hennepin County District Court from 2009 until September 2017.  He was previously in the private practice of law at the Maslon, Edelman, Borman, and Brand law firm in Minneapolis, where he headed the firm’s Labor and Employment Group and was a member of its Competitive Practices and Litigation groups.

The Executive Secretary of the Board is responsible for reviewing complaints about judges, conducting investigations as directed by the Board, and providing informal advisory opinions to judges on request.  Additional information about the Board is available at the Board’s website, www.bjs.state.mn.us.

Former Executive Secretary Thomas Vasaly will provide services to the Board on a contract basis.
