Board Files Petition to Amend Civil Disqualification Rules
03/19/2018
On December 13, 2016, the Board on Judicial Standards filed a petition with the Minnesota Supreme Court to amend Rules 63.02 and 63.03 of the Rules of Civil Procedure. These rules provide for disqualification of judges. In the Board’s view, the standard for disqualification in the civil rules is not stated correctly. See the Board's memo to the Supreme Court's advisory committee. The Court will consider the Board’s petition when it considers the Minnesota State Bar Association’s petition to amend other provisions of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
